Starting from the influential paper “High Wage Workers and High Wage Firms” (Econometrica, 1999), Professor Kramarz will walk the audience through wage determination mechanisms using employer-employee matched datasets. Afterwards, the discussion will show the impact that this study had in the literature, becoming a standard tool in labor economics. Discussing advancements in the study of wage determination mechanisms, Professor Kramarz will also touch upon his latest research.
